A new year, a new focus.

Hey everyone, Ben here. So sorry that we haven’t written in a long time. Things have been really crazy, and we’ve been trying to get our heads around everything involving the band as of late. So I guess this post is a bit about what Nor’easter has been up to, and where we’re headed. I’m going to try and walk you through it, although I’m not quite sure at this point where everything is going to end up.

Basically, we love playing music, and using the abilities that the Lord has blessed us with. So, we’re following that passion and continuing to play music, and write music. But this new year begins with a new tenacity in the band, if that word is fitting, to play more, and do more collectively. We’ve kind of taken it easy this first year of being together, and although we’d garnered some good reviews and press, we didn’t go after things like we could have. So this is now 2011, and we are looking ahead.

We’ve begun writing for our full length, which has been a lot of fun, and really exciting. It’s too early to tell what exactly it’s going to be like, but it’s going to be a big sounding album. We’ve got a lot of work ahead of ourselves, but that’s something that excites us, and we hope it excites you too.

Rob, our bass player, is away in London this semester, studying abroad. He’s going to be at the AA school of Architecture, learning more about his trade, etc. While he’s away, a friend of ours named Matt Sucrow has agreed to fill in when needed on bass, which has been awesome. He’s a great guy and an awesome musician, and we’re glad to have him. He is the lead singer of the band Matthew Jason & the Collective Debut, who recently just released a free 7 song EP, you can get that here: http://matthewjasonband.bandcamp.com/

Also, we’ve got a couple of things lined up this spring, we’re playing January 28th at the Penny Road Pub, check out our facebook page for links and info.

Another exciting announcement is that we’re currently talking with Audio Tree in Chicago to play on Audio Tree live this spring. We’ll let you know when we’ll be playing as soon as we find out.

I guess that’s it as far as an update is concerned. Thanks so much for reading, I hope this finds you well.
